We used this book last summer, it lists most of the free BC Forestry campgrounds and gives reviews of them and even road conditions...and you can keep it on the dash and access easily...no need to "boot up" a book.

http://hikingcamping.com/camp_bc.php IMHO, books like this are well worth $30 even if you only use it to find 1 or 2 cool places...

One of the places it led it to was here; http://www.roadhaus.com/images/Calendar_2008/All/122.jpg There were over 20 campsites and only 1 other party camping here...and this was the middle of summer. We felt like we had the entire forest to ourselves!
