This may be good advise for a Bus or Vanagon, but the EuroVan uses a
plastic fuel line with a short crimped on rubber fuel line on each end.
  The service kit included in the recall replaces the crimped fitting
with a VW spring clamp.  The inability of the crimped fitting to expand
and contract was part of the problem.   I had leaky fuel lines on my
'93 and I replaced the crimps with band clamps.  This was before the
recall, and I thought I fixed the problem.  My van burned up and I will
never know if it was the fuel lines or something else.  The recall in
the US was for only 1993 models.  I have never heard of any for other
years.
