How bad are the old ones? If I'm not mistaken, they're solid copper, not the type of crush washer which is thin copper formed around some gasket material. If they're not too beat up, you can reuse solid copper washers by sanding them smooth. Rub them on some fine grit emery cloth sitting on a flat surface (piece of float glass or ???). Then anneal them by heating them with a torch, and dropping them into a glass of water. That will soften them up, making them seal properly.
