the more i see these vehicles in the hands of the masses who are us... the great unwashed (or at least the very greasy)

the more i suspect vanagons and westies are not cheap motor homes but cheaper yet LAND YACHTS

Put the transmission in backwards indeed ... and install Velvet Drive http://www.simplicity-marine.com/velvetdrive-borgwarner.htm if you can afford it ... borgwarner ..??? looks german to me ... should fit yours
