Very nice ride *BUT* one correction, *NO* Touareg is doing 0 to 100Mph
in 7 seconds (unless its down a vertical cliff ;-) it will do 0 to 100
Km in 7.8 secs.
My Audi S4 wont even do that. (4.2L V8)

After more than 10 years of Vanagon Syncro ownership, I have done the
ultimate upgrade
- 313hp V10 TDI engine
- 6 speed
Tiptronic transmission
- 18" wheels
- Locking center and
rear differentials
- High and low range transfer case
- Cab
adjustable suspension
- Navigation system
- Seating for five
- Four zone climate control
- 7700 lb towing capacity
- 0 to
100 mph in 7 seconds
- 10L per 100km highway fuel consumption
-
Top speed limited to 250km/h
- Xenon headlights
- Onboard air
compressor
- a few dozen other things I have yet to figure out!
- Get this... WARRANTY! :-)
Yes, I am (well the wife
is) a proud owner of a 2006 V10 TDI Touareg! I really have to say it
that Volkswagen and Porsche did do their homework on this car and it is
a
fine replacement for the Vanagon in many ways. Stock vs Stock the
Touareg will walk all over a Syncro Vanagon! Don't to start any wars
here - the Vanagon is a fine vehicle, but for those who are thinking
about
modernizing, the Touareg is something to take a serious look at.
-
1989 TriStar Syncro with 130hp pumpe duse TDI, NATO canopy, all diff
locks, Recaro seats, the list goes on...
- 1990 Golf Country Syncro
with 130hp mTDI
I'll hang on to the Westfalia Syncro R-TDI - at
least for now... unless some offers me the right amount for it!
;-)
