Re
"A V10 as a daily driver. Sad, that is."
I'm wondering what you mean here.
First, I'm sorry that anybody rained on David's parade in any way right
away. I would expect him to be excited about a new to him, very high end
VolksWagen, and a tdi at that. Anyone of us woulda been jazzed about such an
acquisition and wanting to share about it, with pride too. So cut him some
slack if for any silly reason anyone is down on his choice - hey, *somebody*
is going to be owning that Toureg, might as well be one of us !
I used to get uptight about really expensive plush or exotic cars. Now it
think it's cool that someone makes them. It is silly and in appropriate
actually, of course to make 500 hp SUV's like the porsche Cayanne Turbo, or
Ferrari's or whatever. There's lots of200 mph new cars for sale now, like a
dozen or so. It's fantastic that humans can make such beautiful and well
perfuming automotive art work.
That a guy spends his hard earned pennies on a used exotic tdi SUV
.......it's fine.
If you are saying it's a shame to 'waste' such a thoroughbred exotic for
'just a daily driver'.........i guess I could see that. It would be a shame
to use a Bugatti Veyron ( another VW by the way , or owned by VW ) .....as
a 'daily driver' and if that's how you mean it. That I can dig for sure.
Anyway.........I'm glad somebody that *we* know has one. And I hope he
tells us how much he likes it, or may not like some things about it. Heck,
he might even have a technical issue with it and we'll hear about that. But
it think it's fun that someone we know has one.
No getting out in the muck and crude and wrestling a busted front CV
joint anymore .....not for a while anyway !
Hey, *somebody* is going to own and drive that Toureg. Might as well be
one of us, eh ?!!
And about off road prowess, I guess there'll just have to be a run off at
Mog Fest or SDM or some event like that.

A V10 as a daily driver. Sad, that is.
