I believe only those of us who haven't made a similar mistake should be critical of Jeff. Personally, I haven't demonstrated I can be a bonehead since...oh...yesterday evening...

That was when my wife mentioned the bathtub drain was clogged after one of our kids had a shower. She said it was blocked with some kind of black goo. Upstairs I traipsed to find she had already removed and cleaned the hair strainer, but the tub was still filled with standing water. I bailed the water into the toilet so I could see well enough to poke around the tub outlet for five minutes before it occurred to me to check the tub drain handle.

Yup...it was closed. Drained just fine when opened.
