I guess I should at least mention that a friend had a GEX 2.1 in his '84 Westy Wolfsburg that threw a rod. No idea how many miles were on it but it was replaced in the last few years so not that many I'm sure.

I gave him a complete, running 1.9 engine so he could get back on the road. It's my understanding that the engine I gave him was overhauled by Boston Bob but I obtained the vehicle it came from after the overhaul so I have no history on it. It sure ran well, though, and didn't burn any oil.
