And unfortunately these things like the dealer a lot!

They are great vehicles for a lot of reasons but the Westy just has some charm and capabilities not matched by anything else.

David, Best of luck and enjoy it. There is a lot to be said for having fun even just getting work and doing errands.

I had a friend who bought a toureg and my wife and I (in our 83 NA diesel westy) would camp with him. We could go as fast as he could go on the gravel roads of our nearby Bankhead National Forest, and he never went anywhere we couldn't (though I suppose he could have if he wanted to). When we got to the campsite, though, he ate with us (no kitchen) and hung out with us (no space) and then slept in a tent (no sleeping room or ventilation that could keep bugs out). On the highway he could achieve about three times my top speed.

Nice car for what it was, though, very nice. He finally sold it because he hated the dealer so much.
