On the way to work today a car passing in the opposite direction sprayed the Vanagon with t hree or four good sized stones. The seemed kind of large to come up from the road, but it happens, I guess. One left my windshield with a dime-sized chip- it actually looks like a 1/8" piece of glass is missing from the middle of the fracture. I just spend around $1,800 to get this back on the road again, and I don't want another expense, but I'd like to know what my options are- how much do windshields run? Is it worth it to get a used one from a junkyard? How about those windshield repair places? Do they work? Does it depend on the type of damage?
