You might be surprised how many intelligent, educated, open minded people enjoy these various sports.
Hunting, Fishing, and yes, even watching Nascar, does not make one a "Red Neck"
I am sure there are a few more categories you would add to your "childish idiot" list.

Funny thing is too, that one has recently spent more in repairs on his Ford F150 4x4 than I have invested in my '84 Westy including purchase price. My dilemma is that I've had a Subaru 2.2 nearly ready to go into my '84 for a while now, lacking only the wiring harness. Now I've gotten considerable grief from VW buddies and my 14 yr old daughter for even thinking of the Subaru conversion (It won't be a VW anymore!). Well, now that I got my fuel injectors cleaned ( I don't want to go there again!) and my 2.1 is running well again, plus with the Euro spec ECU in there, I have to belive I'm already close to the performance of a Subie

e driven a Westy with a Subie 2.5 , and I know I'm not close to that, but I'd love to drive a 2.2 to make a comparison. I just took my Westy out for a drive today, and I have no problem merging onto the highway, acceleration is perfectly acceptable for a van of this size and weight. At 55 mph I floor it and in seconds I'm doing over 70. On long grades at 55 I step on it and I gain speed. Basically I'm perfectly happy with it as is. I have yet to tow my motorcycle & trailer with it though (around 900-1,000 lbs) and that may be the deciding factor. I almost sold the whole Subie set up weeks ago for other reasons, sale fell thru, then I decided maybe I should hang on to it. Now I'm thinking of selling it again. Jeff
