I know of a fellow in Columbus IN that is restoring a split-window. Not sure exactly what year, it is not a camper; has the barn-door style side doors. He's stripped it completely, repaired all the rust and completely repainted the interior and exterior. AFAIK he's doing it as an investment and plans to sell it when he's done. I don't think he's being 100% original down to using Glasurit paint etc. but otherwise appears to be doing a very nice restoration. I'd guess he'll list it on the Samba when he's done.
