My Westy didn't have the OEM extingusher when I bought it. I bought a Halon extingusher and installed it in the stock location. And yes, I've used it. When the igniter on my fridge decided to self ignite, one zap of halon was sufficient to extingush the flames with no damage to cabinetry. I've also used it one other time for a lantern fire. Again, it worked great (and my charge is still at 95%).
