Hi again, Glad you came to your clear senses on the 91GL. People do make them into westy's you know, a lot of work, but people do it.

On this 74.,......what ? is there one in the neighborhood or a relative is trying to give it to you ? That's a bad year for Bay Buses in my world. The 72 is the first year of the type IV engine. Two carbs, and a messy engine compartment, and no access door above. In 73 they put in a small opening above, it hardly helps. Probably California ones are the really bad ones with EGR and I don't recall that they have a air injection pump, but they're pretty bad. In 75 they went to fuel injection, huge improvement. But sure, go for it. I wouldn't take one if someone paid me to, a 74. Do this, get it, and park it just to look at. Maybe make it into a greenhouse and grow things in it. Scott www.turbovans.com

Based on the responses so far, I guess tha I AM the lucky owner of a sweet 91GL that I originally thought that I was! I guess the nostalgia of an old bus was making me lean in another direction. I think that I will take a member's suggestion and purchase the '74 for fun and see what happens. Hope my neighbors don't mind a retro flashback while in process. :-) Thnaks again, Michael in San ANtonio '91GL 'Gringo'

Thanks, Michael Sullivan
