And there are always places like West Marine, which have stores all over the country. They have 3 sizes with Halotron I, a replacement for Halon. But again, they are not cheap, the smallest one, 5 LB, is $175.00 without a bracket (make your own out of a section of PVC pipe). But of interest on this page is a fire port (someone mentioned those in reference to aircraft). This one looks like it could be mounted in the engine compartment lid. Of course, you would want to be fast, before the lid melts.

I would think if you have one of the Halon types, where the gas is heavier than air, it could be fired through the air intake vent on the left side. Jerry
