I drove my Passat from South Bay (San Jose) to Reno Nevada and back last week. I only saw one late model Westy along highway 80. I was going 75 MPH uphill. The Westy was of course slower. While in Reno I saw a few AC buses but no Vanagons. It's understandable that people there need American made trucks more than Vanagons with little horse power.
