Subject: R.I.P., oh poor Blue Mongrel

Well, THANX Larry, Bill, Bev, Ralf & Amy . . . for your ideas, help, support. But it does look like a funeral unless I get some good ideas, and best of all, an engine! - poor '86 B.M (ha!) not only had that burst hose Bill Thompson found, but compression and other issues that had my mechaninc suggest another engine - new or rebuilt. To the tune of 4K-5K+ ! Sheesh! She is now en route back to my house, 3rd tow since last Sat. Dec 29th. Ouch! Now that I've stopped weeping and have begun the throes of mourning, I'll probably spend the w/e trying to get help to pack the camping stuff & valuables away. I hope it's not forever. Not to pull the "I've fallen and I can't get up" card, but - I am not able to walk much at all, and I do sometimes fall over even with the canes . . . so I'll ask all Portland OR area 'comers' to come on over to help me out with packing & such. We're located in Sellwood part of Ptld, not far from Oaks Amusement Pk. Now, if I could get a ride (!) I'd spring for some beer & pizza - or if Jerry shows, wine for the winegeezer! Just email me back, I really could use the help, volks. Surely we can get Portland WetWestie-ers together for now & fun times in the future ! ?? Does anybody have any suggestions, REAL comments, a spare 2.1 engine?? I am not sure what to do at this point. All the ugly Country Home Camper conversion kitchenette has been pulled out; a westie z-bed put in; and plans for a customized kit.area on hold from my roomate. So, I have a straight-up pop top w/bunk; z-bed; misc camping equipment, not built-in. Heater fan's being ornery; there are a few after mkt items like the hitch receiver, passenger reading light, extra interior grab-bars. And 4 new tires from Les Schwab from last summer. But it needs that new engine & hoses, and what not. What could've fetched a fair price is now my heartbreak . . . and I still need some wheels so Scooter Libby & I can be mobile. ~ ~ thanx for any help! - anna qs
