Bob, I believe he is talking about an inverter that when attached to a 12v DC source will provide 110v AC. The Surepower 1315 is a battery seperator (as you pointed out). You may have been thinking of a battery isolator vs. separator. And it should be noted that to use the 1315 in parallel with the starting battery for starting requires changing the wire from the starting battery to the 1315 to a MUCH bigger wire than is there already in an aux battery setup. I have the 1315 (works great BTW) but haven't beefed up that wire yet, a bit of work to run it from through the same path as the original.
