A fair question. The Vanagon battery is an engine starting battery and not
a deep cycle battery, but for most folk it could work just fine deep cycle
application. The thinner plates of a starting battery won't last for as
many deep discharge/charge cycles as can the thicker plates of a true
deep-cycle battery, but hey -- if Vanagon starting batteries are
inexpensive, why not use one?
