when my audi was totalled back in '98, they were going to take it to an impound lot..i said no way... i called AAA and had it towed home to my driveway. i rode home from the scene of the accident with the AAA driver.

in the trunk i had all my tools, and a rare '57 beetle "W" decklid, that would not had been there when i came back if i had left it in the impound lot.

anyway, sorry to hear about your van's demise.. as for getting your money back out of it, strap on your neoprene gloves and open your toolbox cuz parting it out is the only way your going to get your money back out of it.. if your neighbors bitch, then throw a tarp over it.

you dont need any special "equipment" other than a set of basic metric tools, and a generic floorjack to remove the motor. all the other stuff you added such as the roof rack and tire rack, awning, seatbelts, bla, bla, im sure you can remove them easily..

glad you werent hurt..

chris
