Subject:      My Battery Life 7+ Years

FWIW, I finally bought a new battery for my 84' Westy.  My old battery was a measly 650 CCA from Wal-Mart and was purchased in July of 2000.  Rather surprising considering how many times I killed the battery leaving the lights on, using equipment while camping etc.  I figure it owes it's long life to it's location - inside the van, under the passenger seat.  Nothing astounding, but thought I'd mention it.
Someday I'm going to put in an auxiliary battery, but I've been saying that for years...
