I am in the process of doing the same
thing on my 88 GL. I ordered the wiring
harness and Odyssey PC1200 battery from
Gowesty. The battery was broken during shipment
and I am awaiting a new battery from Odyssey.
The battery was shipped directly from the factory.
So, I'll see how this works out. FedEx is apparently
replacing my battery and picking up the busted
battery for inspection.

Anyway, the Odyssey battery is mounted under the
drivers seat on it's side with posts facing
forward. It's a dry cell battery.

Hi All,

I plan to install an Optima gel Battery under the driver's seat in my 85
Westy so I can use an Inverter for AC power..
Ive read some of the write-ups on how to do this, but can't find the model
number that was used.
Does anyone know the model number, and also where one can buy such a battery
in Canada?
Also, what might be the second best battery awailable that will fit under
the front seat?
