I personally definitely can not say 'vanagons are still Buses' .............because : Buses, as in school buses are roundier, like Bay Buses are, Vanagons are boxy. Chassis and development wise....................vanagons are a whole fresh sheet of paper, where 'Buses' are a continuation of one concept from the beginning of 'VW Bus'. Except for the rear engine location being the same, Vanagons are as different from VW Buses as Eurovans are different from Vanagons, or close to. I'm thinking about the suspension and steering systems for example. 'trailing arms with torsion bars' dates from the 40's. Vanagons have coil springs, they have rack and pinion steering, most of them have 'real heaters' etc. Thirdly. Buses were named and called 'VW Bus', and vanagons are named and called vanagons. Certainly not to me but then you, no doubt, read my post. They're still buses! So, "Happy Busin'", Ken. :) (and all of us for that matter) Mike
