I'm sure it does sound a lot better. I actually have some really nice sounding stock size speakers in the front - I can't rmember the brand right off hand. I'm not really looking to cut anything right now - I probably will eventually though. In my '85 GL I had some sweet sounding 6x9's mounted in the kickboard under the rear seat.
