They're called "bus" everywhere but the US... basically any VW Transporter, whether T1, 2, 3, 4 or 5, can be called a "bus" if it's a passenger model... heck, the thing is only a nickname... I call passenger Hiaces buses too; some have factory "Minibus" decals on them.

If anyone wants to see images of a real rarity, just ask. It's a 1998 Hiace Grand Cabin 4WD LWB (high-roof is always bundled with the LWB) 3.0D 10-seater. Shame the front "rear" seat isn't for three...
