Anna Quinn-Smith of Portland recently blew an engine on her 86 Country 
 Homes Vanagon Camper "Blue Mongrel".

Unfortunately, the Blue Mongrel was Anna's only link to independence as 
 she is partially disabled and relies on an electric scooter and canes
 for mobility. 

Further compounding the situation, Anna is on a fixed income so the
situation
 is rather bleak.

But, there is a some good news.

Thanks to two generous donations, one from an anonymous donor, and one from
 Bob Stevens (mtbiker62@hotmail.com), along with funds from your PIFF
 (Pay It Forward Fund), we were able to purchase a roadworthy 86 Vanagon
 and deliver it to Anna yesterday.

Also special thanks to Bill Thompson (thecraftedcow@comcast.net) for selling
 us an 86 Vanagon at an insanely reasonable price and going above and beyond
in
 so many ways.

But we still need help.

The project has several objectives.

1) Short Term / Get her mobile as quickly as possible, This happened with
the delivery of the new Van

2) Medium Term / Modify her new Van to carry her electric scooter - Still
needs to be done.

3) Long Term / Transfer the engine and other good parts from the new van
over to Blue Mongrel. The Blue Mongrel is a Country Homes Camper Van and 

 Anna needs the headroom and other amentias that it provides.

We need donations to help pay for items 2 & 3.

Hopefully this fund drive will raise enough to put a big dent in those
expenses.
