That is not a valid argument either - that's like saying that the VW Golf is one of the best selling vehicles - lots has happened from 1974 to 2008 - doesn't mean all have the same motor then and now. Same can be said for the Golf / Jetta of TDI, not all are TDIs.

My mechanical injection Golf TDI was all stock except for the injection pump - when it died in Saskatchewan... I was screwed 2000km from home with no place to get parts.... safety in numbers!
