Hi. What are you saying here ? ...........you can't find Vanagon 2WD front suspension ???? How many do you want ?? Not hard to find at all generally, in my experience.

If you are asking if syncro front suspension can be fitted to a 2WD vanagon, yes, that can be done. Been thinking of doing that myself as an early stage of a full syncro conversion to a 2WD vanagon. Only two issues - need the outer ends of front axles to go in the wheel bearings....like the outer stub axles, and the other issue is speedometer drive. There wouldn't' be need for the front diff, which normally drives the speedometer cable on a syncro. I 'might' be possible to drive the speedo of the left front stub axle 2WD style.

I doubt that rear wheel bearings and syncro front wheel bearings are the same. Anyone with ETKA or a good parts person could tell you that. Ask Rennie, don't know if he's on this list though. Scott www.turbovans.com

I have been unable to locate later-model RWD front suspension, for which reason my project van is still on hold, and I'm getting really itchy about it.

I had an idea... I know a Syncro front-end can be fitted with some work, and no doubt the springs can be shortened to level the van.

What I want to know is, are the Syncro stubaxles (knuckles) the same profile as RWD ones, ie do they take the same bearing inner diameters and have the same bearing spacings? I don't want VW hubs or rotors; these will be replaced by my nonVW brake kit, which is designed for later RWD stubs.

If the person in Calgary who a couple of years ago offered me a free Syncro front-end would please contact me...
