Chad,

I've been driving GL's since '88 - my first was an 85 GL I bought in Kenai Alaska.. Until then I drove the old air cooled buses. The last one was a '68 Loaf. When I moved up to the 85 GL I thought I was in hog heaven. What a luxurious ride - at least compared to the old loafs. And all that heat - both front and rear - just fabulous in that cold land in winter. I got it in summer, and since I bought it with no middle seat, that was no problem. I immediately took off on a fishing trip. It had some curtains already, and I strung a towel across on the coat hangers just behind the front seats and had total privacy. Folded out the read seat, slept like a baby. It took me a while to figure out how to defeat the mosquitoes, but it wasn't hot that trip so I could sleep with windows closed. I did a lot of camping in that rig, and also later when I go my 88 GL. Once in a while I get the yen for a poptop but then I think about the hassle and it goes away. With Modern appliances designed for camping yu can do an awful lot of comfortable camping in a GL.

Regards,
