Follow the white rabbit... http://www.knology.net/~vw/vanagon/sag/

I initially put in 3 spacers, but ended up going with 2. The setup worked great for me with no troubles. I think the person who bought the Westy from me still uses them 5 years later.

OK -- after a brief holiday hiatus and a few other distractions, I finally finished the installation of the new steering rack, strut rod bushings, ball joints, and tie rods. Now, with the van down off the stands and the proper Hankoook RA08 tires all around, it's become apparent that the rear of the van sits just slightly lower than the front. If I put a level on the rain gutter over the side door I see about 1/8 bubble inclined towards the front. This is with no occupants or cargo in the van.

This was not apparent when first I got the van because there were undersized tires on the front, while the rears were about the right diameter (but not the correct load rating).

Is this normal? Common? Correctable?

Ah-ha, as I'm writing this I just remembered I have not put the spare tire up in its recess under the front -- that will probably help a little bit.
