I have my old OE oil pump out and I noticed that the pump outlet
port/hole is smaller that the receiving hole in the case.  My new
Shadeck pump has the same smaller outlet port.  I have read that to
blueprint the pump these holes in the case and the pump body should be
the same size but It seems kind of funny why both the OE and my new pump
have the outlet holes about the same size and smaller than the receiving
port in the case.  If I enlarge the outlet port on the pump then I would
guess that the oil pressure inside the pump might be reduced, but what
will that do to the oil presser elsewhere.  If port matching is ideal
then why did VW not do this in the first place?  Any body have insight
into this?  Thanks
