Well ...

I was all prepared to seek a Subaru 2.5 for my '85 Westy but after discussing it with my wife (and she was willing to do whatever I wanted to do) I've decided to put a rebuilt Boston Bob 2.1 in instead. Mary seems to think she would rather it remain all VW. My old 1.9 runs smooth and reliably (and gets 21 mpg) but after 209,000 plus miles it's getting tired and burns about a quart of oil every 500 or 600 miles.

We make lots of long trips so it's probably time.
