Ah, now that makes some sense if there was a hole there for the set screw, that would make it more suceptible to fatigue. Thanks for clearing it up... On this topic, I thought I had the shifter all adjusted but road test revealed that what I thought was 1/2 was actually engaging 3/4, so I still have some tweaking to do.
