by the way ...
when i had my 69 westie motor rebulit the excellent
and well versed in volkswagen mechanic in okanagan vally, bc, canada
raised the oil cooler 4 inches off the block inside the fan housing
he said this would stop hot oil from returning to the #1 cylinder and
causing valve damage
.... sharing part of my experience ...
