Hi Mike.

Don't know if I qualify as "older folk" (I'm 44) but....

From what I've read, the Garmin 60CSx (and possibly others in this category) has a display that is visible in sunlight.

This from Amazon:

The user reviews look good too though after reading a few of them, did not see mention either way (pro/con) about screen in sunlight. And speaking of user reviews....

One user rated it 1/5 for use on the road, though he "asked" it to set a route from the road directly to the trail he wanted to hike. It gave him a straight line basically IIRC.

As for people with glasses, who knows? I'll see (har har) if I can't judge how it works for me. At this point I need glasses for computer/music, but not yet for driving.
