Hi Loren, a street database that includes forestry roads and campgrounds, now that's a different matter. I only use glasses for reading/computer, etc. My eyes are fine for distance although a +1.00 strength does sharpen things in the middle to far distance. I have a history of losing or breaking all glasses so I buy cheap rack glasses for reading. If I could find rack glasses that had +1.00 on the top and +2.25 on the bottom then I'd feel confident that there isn't a GPS on the market that I couldn't focus on. But since I can't, well, thus my inquiry to other farsighted folk re the standalone GPS units.
