Yeah, there are emissions tests in a couple of counties near Chicago I think. But for most of the state, no -- no safety testing, no emissions.

Yeah you do see some SCARY cars on the road. Bald tires, broken glass, frames askew, parts held on with bungee cords and wire, everything.

I had a car behind me the other day, don't know how it was drivable it looked like it had hit a wall. Front smashed, no grille, no headlights, hood folded up blocking the lower half of the window. The driver (talking on a cell phone to top it off) could not possibly have been able to see the road directly in front of the car.
