I built a compressor Fridge that uses the original door. The fridge is a fiberglass shell, insulted with ridged foam and uses a Danfoss compressor. It will easily go to freezing temps. All 12v, no propane. 2- 4 days off a 100 amp. hour battery. Expensive though. About $1000.00.

I did see a slide in Italian fridge with the same compressor on this list. Only $500 or so but no original door.

If you are interested I can send you pictures of my set up.
