The hard and fast number for all 228 MM flywheels is .970ths I have a dept gauge with a digital read out that sits next to my flywheel grinder for this purpose A vernier caliper can also be used to measure dept

Its common to see flywheels that are out of spec from prevoius incounters with a mad machinest suprpising most worked without complant
