When I was a little boy my family had a Daihatsu truck.
The truck had only three wheels, one in the front and
two in the back. There was no steering wheel. It had a
motor cycle like handle for steering. There was a
driver's cab in the front with a single front wheel
sticking out. Very often we had to use a crank to
start the engine. It was a truck with half a ton
of load capacity. It cost a fortune for my father to
get it from Japan. I remember there was only one car
and one truck in the entire town we lived in. The car
was a beetle owned by the only doctor in town. Then
the only truck was owned by us. It was something deep
in my memory. Daihatsu is a name with a long history
of making small trucks. I think they make very good
trucks.
