Rear Hatch Hinge pins......... I've bought, fixed throughout, and sold 40+ vanagons over the years. And worked on 150 others............or more. And never once have I seen anyone lube about 120 places on them that I do. And that most definitely includes rear hatch hinge pins. If they get *any* lube every once in a while, they'll be fine. Most people's standard appears to be 'never,' however. Prolong spray synthetic grease is what I like. I don't consider them dinky at all . They are super well made, never seen a problem with one. I am curious to find out if anybody's Vanagon tailgate hatch has ever fallen off. Has anyone ever noticed that the hinge pins wear out. Does anybody get a little concern when they install a hatch bike rack with bikes loaded down bearing weight on the pins or busting the glass? Those pins are dinky and does anybody lube them? You know when you are driving down the road... shake, rattle, and fall off?

This has never happen to me. But I wonder!!!
