I won't even take my poor Vanagon up I-5 through the central valley because it can only manage 75 without leaving the tach green zone, and only 70 if I want to hear anything but wind noise. One friday morning in '95 I drove my old '67 Dodge Dart 400 miles from Long Beach to Berkeley in a hair under 4 hours (including three gas stops), and I wasn't really going all that much faster than everyone else.
