Jeff,

Could be grounds as grounds are simply the other side of the wiring circuit. Too often, people will check a grounding point and see that it's really tight and think it's fine. Tight is not the key. Shiny clean where metal meets metal is the key.

It could also be a flaky connector or even a broken wire inside the insulation. Many times I've temporarily fixed problems simply by unplugging and replugging a connector. Some will change out a perfectly good component and, when it runs afterward, think the component was the problem when actually the action of unplugging and replugging this marginal connector is what did it. The other side of that coin is ... changing out a bad component but having the engine not run afterward due to disturbing a bad wire or connector.
