If it was what you are suggesting, it would be consistent, not like mark is describing. It might have that too, lol, but in your scenario it would be always the same, it would be vaguely not that great breaking, which isn't what he described. And ..........'usually' .........the caliper pistons will move enough under brake pressure to grab the disc and slow things down, and then not retract much at all, which means brake drag, and the wheels are notably hard to turn if you jack it up some.

Sounds like seized calipers and you're only getting real braking from the rears. Because of the greater excursion of the slave cylinders they'll break free more easily, but fade quickly too.

Try popping off a caliper, backing off the bleed nipple and pushing the piston in. That might wake them up until you can hone and re-build the caliper pots.
