Reading all these problems with the mounting hardware is making me wonder am I the only person who hasn't had problems with the hardware. I bought mine open bag at the first bus depot campout, I dug around the bottom of the box and the friend I was with pointed out the hardware I needed. I put then on the following weekend and haven't had a problem since. It maybe that I don't do any real winter driving.

From what I've read, it looks like I did the right thing by buying mine from Bus Depot's sale a few weeks ago, mine were missing the hardware. I also used stainless steel screws, but once they were mounted I took them back off and painted the holes I drilled then reinstalled the mud flaps with a gob of black sealant around each hole, in hopes of keeping out any moisture and preventing any rust from starting.
