The seal around the sliding door handle from a newer model ('85~'91)
will NOT work on the older doors ('80~'84).  However, though not cheap,
here's something that really works:

That delrin bushing for the sliding door handle actually offers better
support than the original.

The part number for the plastic piece around the gas filler (called
Housing for Fuel Filler Neck) is 251 201 117.
