Keep in mind that Ford was once offered VW for almost nothing and they said the car "was not worth a Darn" or something to that effect.

Very cool article thanks for sharing. I can tell you this much about my 2.slo Jetta, about two weeks ago I had to swerve big time to avoid a guy who was set to T-bone me, (with my nephew in the car). Had I been in any of the cars I've rented recently, my wife's old Altima, or yikes the Vanagon, we would've been smashed. My Jetta handled perfectly, I about pooped myself but my nephew didn't even realize how close we were to getting hit. It's the closest I've come to what could've been a very damaging accident in a very very long time. I owe my well-being and possibly my life to that car. Any truck/SUV I've ever driven would've gone out of control with my maneuvering.
