These questions may have been covered when the amazing shelf project first hit the list, but:

---doesn't the shelf prevent you from grabbing the crossbar and pushing the poptop up?

and... ---what prevents the shelf from rotating downward (when loaded with stuff) and sending your junk plummeting towards the floor?
