I'm a little behind looking at e-mail but I noticed Jake used my name as a possible source of information about a mechanic in Langley B.C.
I used Auto Folks #103 20058 Industrial Ave (just behind the VW dealer) to replace the 1.9 WB in our van.  Shiraz seems to know his stuff and the new (rebuilt) motor has been good.  YMMV.  At the time Jake suggested The Bug Shop in Surrey.
