Well I disagree. This is in an area where the deterioriation cannot be easily observed and won't be noticed by most owners until it fails completely with potentially catastrophic results. A more robust design was called for in this case.

And it is costly to fix, the repar kit is $100 for what? A few grommets, tee fittings, a couple of feet of tubing?
